Wolves Take Early Series Lead
The Minnesota Timberwolves put on a dominant performance in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night, winning 117-98.
The Wolves were in control from the opening tip, leading by double digits for most of the game. They shot 53.3% from the field and held the Suns to just 40.7% shooting.
Karl-Anthony Towns led the way for the Timberwolves with 33 points and 14 rebounds. Anthony Edwards added 25 points, and D'Angelo Russell chipped in with 19 points.
Devin Booker led the Suns with 29 points, but he struggled from the field, shooting just 9-of-24. Deandre Ayton added 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Timberwolves will host the Suns in Game 2 on Tuesday night. The series will then shift to Phoenix for Games 3 and 4 on Thursday and Saturday.
